I love this recorder. The only things that I do not like there some blocks for the microphones (which might come off during recording, although not happened - yet) and that does not work on 48V powered microphones with batteries ( need to enter the draft, although I do not think it says in the directions ). The menu button also seems a bit 'flimsy. Other than that, a formidable machine, with great sound.
The Good:
The small size, high quality sound and different recording formats make this an excellent tool for mobile field recording. The internal microphone produces an image very good audio, XLR inputs and make it usable with any pro audio microphone. I was surprised by all the on-board effects, mixing, a capacity to bounce. can manually set the gain and input levels to adapt to any environment. The basic registration simple, requires only three steps to "roll tape.
The Bad:
This is a device of four-track, but can only record two tracks at a time. The switches are small and the interface takes some 'juggling to get the functionality advanced. Also, if you're not using this device for the cinema, the internal clock does sync with precision clocks DV ... It is evident during the long and requires stretching or shrinking the audio track to match the video track (a simple step, but cumbersome).
